A growing organisation in the surfacing and infrastructure sector is looking to recruit a Transport Supervisor, reporting directly to the Transport Manager.
The successful candidate will work at a supervisory level and deputise for the Transport Manager at the main depot in Redditch, while also remotely supporting transport operations across three additional sites.
Ideally, you will have 3+ years' experience in a similar transport or logistics role, with a strong understanding of the fast-paced nature of a transport environment-where even the best planning can require quick adjustments to meet frontline operational needs.
You should be confident using computers, able to work both independently and within a team, and articulate when dealing with colleagues and customers. The role will require strong multitasking abilities while staying focused on key objectives.
This is a full-time position suited to someone looking to progress into a Transport Manager role within a growing company.

Monday to Friday, 06:30-16:30
Starting Salary:
£35,000 per annum
Location:
Based within a commutable distance of Redditch. You must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting.

Role Overview
The Transport Supervisor supports the Transport Manager in overseeing and managing all aspects of the organisation's transport activities. This includes maintenance planning, coordinating with maintenance suppliers, ensuring cost effectiveness, and upholding safety and regulatory standards.
General Responsibilities
Planning:
Develop and implement operational policies, standards, and procedures to improve efficiency.
Driver Management:
Coordinate daily with drivers and troubleshoot vehicle-related issues.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Assist with scheduling inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure all vehicles remain in optimal condition.
Resource Allocation:
Ensure effective use of human, technological, and financial resources.
Quality Control:
Ensure services meet organisational quality standards.
Crisis Management:
Respond to live transportation issues, including breakdowns and operational disruptions.
Local Accountabilities
Cost Management:
Monitor transport costs, identify improvements, and implement cost-effective strategies without affecting service quality.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with industry best practices and recommend new technologies or methods.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant regulations and safety protocols.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years' experience in transportation or logistics in a similar role
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Computer literate
