This role supports our Navy customer in Lexington Park, MD.
Experience required
* Network Operations & Maintenance
o Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
o Monitor network performance (bandwidth, latency, uptime) and optimize as needed
o Ensure network services (Intranet, Internet, DNS, DHCP, wireless) are running securely and efficiently
* Access Control & Security
o Manage user access through network systems
o Apply the principle of least privilege to network resources
o Configure and monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions
o Enforce network segmentation
o Implement and maintain VPNs, TLS, and other encryption technologies
* Monitoring & Incident Response
o Monitor logs for anomalies using log management tools
o Respond to network outages, security alerts, and incidents
* Compliance & Documentation
o Maintain network diagrams and data flow maps for systems handling CUI
o Document firewall rules, access controls, and configuration baselines
o Support compliance efforts (CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, etc.) by providing evidence of controls
o Conduct periodic access and privilege reviews
o Implement Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) and ensure RMF (Risk Management Framework) compliance for ACAS and VRAM systems
* System Updates & Patching
o Apply patches, firmware updates, and configuration changes in accordance with change control
o Track vendor advisories and update systems to mitigate vulnerabilities
* Backup & Recovery
o Ensure network device configurations are backed up securely
o Support disaster recovery planning and testing
* User & Technical Support
o Provide tier‑2/3 support for connectivity issues
* Planning & Engineering
o Recommend and implement network upgrades
o Participate in system architecture design, ensuring security by design
o Research and evaluate new network technologies
* Additional Duties as needed
o Manage RDT&E network‑connected and standalone laboratory systems, including workstations, printers, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) devices
* System Maintenance

CCNA, Ruckus Switches (Brocade)
Basic Requirements
A mid‑level has 3 or more years of experience performing work related to the labor category functional description.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Security Clearance
Top Secret (must be a US Citizen).
Tele‑work and Travel
On‑site.
Contract
