We're recruiting on behalf of a client in the machine tool industry, looking for a skilled Service Engineer to cover the Manchester and Lancashire area.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing field service role where you'll be diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing CNC machine tools at client sites across the Northwest. Our client is ideally looking for candidates with an electrical bias, though they'll consider engineers with a 50/50 electrical-mechanical split – provided you have strong, demonstrable knowledge of CNC controls.
Responsibilities
* Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing CNC machine tools at client sites.
* Providing customer-facing support and service.
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' customer-facing field service experience.
Required Skills
* Experience with CNC machine tool controls: Heidenhain, Siemens, and/or Fanuc.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Skills
* Electrical bias or a 50/50 electrical-mechanical split.
Pay range and compensation package
* Salary: £38,000 per annum (maximum basic £40,000).
* Pay is door-to-door, with overtime paid for any hours outside standard working hours.
* Monday – Thursday: 08:00–17:00 | Friday: 08:00–12:00 (38 hrs/week).
* Overtime rates: 1.333× (Mon–Fri), 1.5× (Saturday), double time (Sunday).
* 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
* Company vehicle: Ford Transit Van (personal use optional).
* Company mobile phone & laptop.
* Private healthcare after 6 months (with option to add family members).
* Company pension: 5% employee / 8% employer.
