Job Overview

Title: Support Worker

Location: Watton, Thetford, IP25 6HA, Norfolk

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hourly Pay:£13.20 per hour

Hours per week: 36‑48 hours, 12‑hour shifts from 08:00 to 20:00

Shift Rota: X3 shifts week 1 and X4 shifts week 2; during X4 weeks you will have 2 weekend shifts.


Key Responsibilities

* Supporting with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating and personal hygiene.
* Performing light housekeeping such as dusting, vacuuming and changing bed linens.
* Assisting with safe lifting, transferring and repositioning of residents.
* Supporting residents to attend medical appointments.
* Observing, monitoring and recording physical and emotional well‑being and reporting changes to senior staff.
* Facilitating the development of family connections and liaising with specialists (e.g., Speech & Language Therapists, Learning Disability teams).
* Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities to promote personal growth.


Qualifications & Skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
* Empathy, understanding and patience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong understanding of policies and procedures.
* Ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
* Competent verbal and written English.
* A healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Right to work in the UK.
