Join to apply for the Ambulance Care Assistant Bank role at EMED Group.

We have a fantastic opportunity for Bank Ambulance Care Assistants to serve your local community and to join our team based in Burgess Hill. This is a 0 hour contract on an 'as and when' basis. Shifts available are between 06:00 – 23:00, 7 days per week.

An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) is a rewarding role. Each day, you’ll be helping someone in need and making a difference to their day.


Responsibilities

* Transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities. This can be carried out as two-person crews or alone; a full UK driving licence and good physical fitness are essential.
* Transport of end-of-life service users with empathy and professionalism.
* Build rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends.
* Assist with lifting, securing and helping service users in and out of the ambulance.
* Assist with handing over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
* Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar both in and out of hospital and medical flights where applicable.
* Assist service users with challenging behaviour and/or mental health illnesses.
* Keep the ambulance safe, clean and tidy.


Qualifications & Requirements

* Committed to patient care.
* Effective communicator with experience handling emotional or sensitive situations.
* Calm, considerate, and careful driver.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
* Familiar with the local and surrounding area.
* Hold a valid UK manual driving licence with less than 6 points.
* Physically fit for patient handling and moving.
* Ability to work flexible shifts.
