Pay rate – £40 per hour Contract – Temporary Barnsley MB Council are currently recruiting an experienced Independent Review Officer for their Looked After Children team. (This role does not involve any chairing of child protection conferences). This role is to cover a short-term sickness period of up to 2 months. There could be potential to extend this as the service are expanding to an 18 plus IRO service and additional capacity may be required beyond this initial cover period, but there is no guarantee. You will have a key role in driving care planning and promoting positive outcomes for looked after children and young people. Looking for someone who is enthusiastic, a strong advocate for young people and is passionate about the wellbeing and outcomes for looked after children. Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
