Teaching Personnel Liverpool are seeking fully qualified, experienced, and specialist SEN/SEMH Teachers to join two dedicated Secondary SEN/SEMH schools across the Wirral. These schools support pupils aged 11–16 who present with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), trauma-related behaviours, autism spectrum condition (ASC), learning difficulties, attachment needs, and challenging behaviours.

We are looking for resilient, passionate, and skilled teachers who can make an immediate impact and contribute to the stability, progress, and wellbeing of vulnerable learners.

Role Overview

As a Specialist SEN/SEMH Teacher, you will:

Teach small classes or nurture groups of KS3/KS4 pupils with diverse and complex SEND and SEMH needs.
Deliver personalised, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, with a focus on functional skills, core subjects, and engagement-based learning.
Plan, track, and assess learning in line with EHCP outcomes, individual learning profiles, and therapeutic approaches.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils through trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour support, and consistent routines.
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, behaviour mentors, therapists, pastoral teams, and school leadership to ensure holistic progress.
Promote emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and social development through structured interventions and supportive teaching.
Contribute to behaviour planning, risk assessments, de-escalation strategies, and consistent application of behaviour frameworks.
Maintain accurate records, safeguarding standards, and high-quality communication with colleagues and parents/carers.

We Are Looking For Teachers Who:

Hold QTS or QTLS (Essential).
Have experience teaching in alternative provisions, PRUs, SEMH schools, SEN schools, or similar.
Have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, SEMH behaviours, and additional SEND such as ASC, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
Are confident in behaviour management, rapport building, and delivering creative, engaging learning to re-engage pupils.
Are adaptable, calm under pressure, and committed to improving the life chances of vulnerable young people.
Can work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Are available for immediate start and able to commit full-time.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
