Due to continued success, we are looking for an ambitious electrically biased Crane & Lifting Equipment engineer who can showcase their skills around the northwest and midlands areas. If you are a confident, sharp and bright individual, keen to work hard and develop your skill set, work alongside a successful team as well as alone then we would like to hear from you. A background in electrical installations and knowledge of electrical regulations is essential. Electrical qualifications are essential and to be successful you must be willing to learn both aspects of this industry with preferably City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications in the electrical industry. A full UK driving license is essential.
Overview
Role based within the UK, predominantly around the Northwest and Midlands regions, with the occasional venture to the South and North East of England. It entails supporting other TCM engineers as part of a team effort to help keep TCM customers machines and equipment to a good standard of maintenance and repair. The working week consists of 5 x 9-hour days with an unpaid lunch break. An average on-site week is 7:00 to 16:30. Any requirement to work away for extended time will include paid hotel and food and drink expenses. The team aims to be flexible to help each other out as needed.
Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, inspecting, LOLER Thorough Examinations, breakdown diagnosis and repairs, including defect repairs following service work.
* Work with other TCM engineers as part of a team to maintain and repair customers’ machines and equipment to a good standard.
* Learn from and share skills with other engineers; be willing to develop both electrical and mechanical capabilities.
* Participate in planned work with other engineers to learn additional skills.
Qualifications and Skills
* Electrical qualifications are essential; City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications in the electrical industry preferred.
* Background in electrical installations and knowledge of electrical regulations is essential.
* Experience in crane repair and maintenance is preferential but not essential.
* Willingness to learn both electrical and mechanical aspects of the industry.
* Full UK driving license is essential.
Equipment and Environment
* Equipment includes RMG Gantry Cranes, Crawler Cranes, RTG Cranes, Empty Container Handlers, Forklift Trucks (1–36 Ton), Boatyard Hoist, Terminal Tractor Tugs, and Terminal Sweeper Units.
