Community first aider (surrey)

Guildford

Offer description

Volunteering with St John Ambulance strengthens communities. From youth support and education to wellbeing, events, and fundraising; your time makes a real impact.

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

Volunteering as a Community First Aider provides a huge sense of satisfaction and pride in delivering an essential service. It’s beneficial for you, your community, and our nation, requiring only a small time commitment.

We will ensure you have access to a proper induction and the necessary training for your role. We also provide a supportive environment during your volunteering. Details about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions, along with our volunteer charter outlining mutual expectations.

We aim to increase the number of volunteers in Cranleigh, Woking, and Guildford. Successful candidates are expected to attend at least one training session per month at Guildford, starting at 20:00 for 2 hours.

Interviews will be conducted at Guildford. Please bring ID documents for verification.

Online learning is required before attending a 2-day training course scheduled for a weekend in January.

The closing date for applications is 05/10/2025.

If you’d like to learn more about volunteering or have questions, please contact our hiring manager, Catherine Hosker, via email at Catherine.Hosker@sja.org.uk.
