We are looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our team based on site in Leicester. The Multi Skilled Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical / mechanical plant and equipment. You will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical / electrical equipment to SFG20 standards. These will include HVAC systems, UPS Systems, RCD testing, PAT, Lighting, LEVs and fume cupboards, Boilers and Air Compressors
* Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
* Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
* Keep detailed records of maintenance activities using a CMMS.
* Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory management for critical spares.
* Responsible for co-ordination of contractors including issue of Permit to Work.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
* Support black building testing and respond to alarms via the Trend BMS
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience within a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Specific Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering,
* A demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering
* Testing and Inspection certification is desired
