Base pay range
Trainee Drainage Engineer, Metro Rod Oxford, Oxfordshire area. Salary £24,000 - £27,000 basic salary plus on-call, overtime and benefits (OTE of average Drainage Engineer post training £40-50K).

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and Metro Plumb provide drain clearance and maintenance services. Our network includes over 60 franchisees across the UK. We are committed to high standards of service and customer satisfaction. Willow Pumps and Filta operate within the Waste & Water Services Division as expanding businesses focused on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, these brands provide a complete one-stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.
This is a full-time permanent role and is ideal for someone who is interested in the drainage industry and/or learning a trade on the job. There is significant opportunity for development, training and progression.
What does it entail?
* Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of customers’ drains
* Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with safety standards
* Carrying out surveys
* Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
* Accurately recording work/job details via internal/client systems and apps
* Communicating effectively with high-profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues
* Being part of an on-call rota to service clients 24/7 / 365 days a year (one week in four, variable by business needs)
What are we looking for?
* Previous experience in a hands-on technical/construction role
* A keen interest in learning the drainage trade
* Motivation to progress and develop yourself
* Positive, flexible, can-do attitude
* Willingness to be part of a growing and progressive business
* Be prepared to work some unsociable hours
* Physically fit and able to do a manual role
* Full UK driving licence & own transport
