Reporting to: Operations Director
Responsible for: Sports Skills Coaches and Sports Quality Support
Provision Area: Sports Apprenticeship Programmes
Location: Home-based
Hours of Work: Full Time Monday to Friday
Travel: You may be required be required to travel to various locations. You will have a full UK driving licence and when required be able to use your own vehicle which must be insured for use on business using your own vehicle.
DBS Check: AC Training is committed to safeguarding. For specific job roles post holders will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
Remuneration: From £35,000 depending on experience
AC Training – Who we are
Based in Shrewsbury, AC Training has been an established training provider since 2009. For the majority of our history, we have focused on commercial training in areas such as leadership and management, career advice and guidance, coaching and mentoring and business development. But now we have moved into Sports Coaching and Community based coaching Apprenticeships.
We have been actively delivering Apprenticeships since December 2017. Through our focus on delivering the highest standards to both our learners and employers, we have been fortunate to grow our apprenticeship provision significantly over the last few years. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our provision is innovative and creative, supporting the needs of our learners.
We have introduced a new range of standards across Sports and Coaching including Community Activator Coach, Community Sport and Health Officer, Sports Coach, and Sporting Excellence Professional

Role Purpose
The Apprenticeships Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Sports apprenticeship programmes. The role focuses on supporting, managing, and developing Sports Skills Coaches and Quality Support, ensuring high-quality delivery, learner progress, and compliance with apprenticeship and awarding body requirements (Ofsted, Department for Education, End Point Assessment Organisations).
The post holder acts as the first point of escalation and support for coaches, ensuring consistency, quality, and effective learner experience, while working closely with the Operations Director to implement agreed priorities and improvements.
This role is operational and people-focused.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience (Essential)
* Experience managing apprenticeship delivery or work-based learning provision.
* Strong people-management and coaching skills.
* Good understanding of apprenticeship quality, compliance, and learner journey.
* Experience supporting skills coaches in a delivery environment.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and support teams in a fast-paced setting.
* Clear, confident communicator with a supportive leadership style.

Scope of the Role
* Operational delivery role focused on Sports provision only.

* Works within frameworks and priorities agreed by the Operations Director.
