Job Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our highly regarded, award-winning Civil & Structural team within our Hydrock Newcastle office.
We offer a people-focused culture, engaging projects, and clear progression paths. As part of our national Civil and Structural team (250+ employees), you'll collaborate with divisions like MEP, Nuclear, and Smart Energy & Sustainability.
The role will include:
* Delivery of scheme and concept designs.
* Delivery of detailed design including tender and construction packages.
* Preparation of calculation packages for Building Control submission.
* Participation in client, design, and site meetings.
* Management and development of engineers and technicians.
* Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team, and contractors.
* Preparation of fee proposals and input into project bids and ITTs.
Attributes we expect:
* MEng or BEng in civil or structural engineering.
* Chartered or Associate membership of IStructE/ICE or working towards Chartership.
* Self-motivated team player with good interpersonal skills.
* Strong communication, analysis, technical design, and drawing skills.
* Experience with analysis and design software.
* Ability to perform hand calculations for design.
* Understanding of BIM Level 2 requirements.
* Developing marketing and business development skills.
