We are seeking a skilled Site Electrical Engineer to join our Operations team in Ilkeston, supporting the safe and efficient running of a high-volume facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, preventative maintenance, and working with a wide range of industrial machinery and control systems. The Role Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure plant reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous production. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with site schedules Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across a variety of machinery and systems Responding quickly to breakdowns, prioritising safety and production continuity Fault finding on Siemens PLC systems and wider electrical controls Installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical systems Maintaining emergency lighting circuits and conducting testing requirements Ensuring all electrical work complies with current regulations and standards Updating maintenance records using the site CMMS system Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability Supervising external contractors when required About You We are looking for someone with strong technical ability, a proactive mindset, and excellent fault-finding skills. Essential Requirements: Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Minimum 5 years experience in electrical engineering Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems Strong understanding of industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, tanks, mixers and mobile plant Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Knowledge of ATEX environments and associated risks Knowledge of automation, sensors, and control systems Good communication skills IT literate (Microsoft Office / Teams) Ability to work independently and within a team Desirable: IOSH Working Safely / CSCS IPAF 3a & 3b Counterbalance Forklift Licence MEWP experience Experience using CMMS systems What We Offer Permanent full-time role Stable day-shift working pattern Competitive salary based on experience Opportunity to work in a technically challenging industrial environment Ongoing training and development opportunities Supportive team culture
