Fleet Services are responsible for Force vehicles across Dorset, Devon, and Cornwall. Our aim is to provide a safe and efficient vehicle fleet to meet the demands of operational policing.
We have two workshops in Dorset, open Monday to Friday. We offer a diverse working week, working on our fleet from purchase to disposal, including Light Commercial Vehicles to small cars and all in-between. Our service schedule interval is significantly reduced, ensuring we work on well-maintained vehicles.
Why consider a career as a Dorset Police Vehicle Technician? It’s a fulfilling career! Several of our team members have over thirty years of service.
Our working environment is clean, warm, safe, and well-equipped. The jobs we undertake are satisfying because they are completed to a high standard, regardless of customer budget.
All work prioritizes safety, not profit. There is no bonus scheme; our reward is knowing we complete our work accurately and without compromise.
The work-life balance is a key reason to join us. We work a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday, with no scheduled weekend work (overtime is available occasionally at an enhanced rate and is optional).
We offer flexi-time, all Bank Holidays off, and a generous leave entitlement. Additionally, there is a death-in-service payout for peace of mind for dependents.
All specialist tools outside of the normal technician’s tools are supplied. Technicians’ personal tools and toolboxes are insured and replaced if broken.
