Role Overview: We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our team and support a number of exciting civil engineering projects within the Southern Water area. The successful candidate will be responsible for site engineering duties, including establishing survey control, setting out detailed works per contract drawings, and ensuring regular checks for accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Health, Safety & Environment
Promote safety rules and establish a safe working culture.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and legal obligations.
Maintain environmental compliance and deliver work safely.
Quality
Promote best practices and ensure defect-free work delivery.
Spot and highlight value engineering opportunities where applicable.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
Site Engineering
Set up level and survey control for contracts.
Set out detailed works according to contract drawings and perform regular checks.
Maintain accurate records in line with organisational and legal requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected technical issues.
Prepare procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement team to ensure adequate resources.
Produce ITPs, Task Briefings, and 2-week look ahead plans with the Site Agent.
Keep Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets up to date.
Key Measures and Targets: Timely and accurate setting out of works.
Handover of works and quality records without outstanding defects.
Production of accurate records, drawing registers, and weekly diaries.
About You: Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects.
Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety practices, and legal regulations.
Proficient in using robotic total stations or EDM instruments.
Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-driven with a positive, results-oriented outlook.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
Experience using AutoCAD and MS Office.
Temporary-works coordination experience.
CSCS card holder.
Cable avoidance training.
First aid training.
NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
