The role
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and delivered in line with customer needs, operational constraints, and project objectives. Your work will directly contribute to the success of major defence programmes, supporting national security and global maritime capability.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in Systems Engineering while working alongside multidisciplinary teams. You’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and play a key role in shaping solutions that make a real-world impact.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the development and maintenance of requirements artefacts, such as specifications and traceability matrices.
2. Assist in defining Verification and Validation (V&V) strategies, developing test evidence, and supporting acceptance activities.
3. Participate in internal and external design reviews, providing Systems Engineering input across design, development, and integration stages.
4. Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure system coherence and compliance.
This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Systems Engineer:
5. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Organised and able to prioritise tasks in a project environment.
8. Enthusiastic about learning and applying Systems Engineering best practices.
Qualifications for the Systems Engineer:
9. Degree-qualified in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
10. Familiarity with core Systems Engineering concepts such as requirements elicitation, requirement decomposition, functional analysis, and verification.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
