Job Title: Project Director – Data Centre Construction
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to grow and develop a team delivering Data Centre Construction projects in and around London.
The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the team and the project from tender & planning to completion, including CSA and fit-out packages, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule targets are met. This is a unique opportunity to work on a state-of-the-art facility with a leading international construction contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
* Schedule and chair weekly meetings with your team, the Design team, and the Client
* Follow up and ensure a timely close out of any outstanding items.
* Attend and actively contribute to EHS and QA meetings.
* Implement Morning White board meetings.
* Implement evening schedule meetings.
* Oversee and manage all phases of the data centre delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
* Coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Implement quality control procedures to meet technical and contractual requirements.
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
* Report regularly on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Engineering Degree or recognised trade qualification
* 10+ years’ experience of managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
* Proven experience as a Project Director/Senior Manager in construction projects, preferably Pharma, Hospitals, Clean Rooms or other high-tech facilities
* Thorough knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages
* Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
* Ability to efficiently manage a team by setting expectations, delegation, and review.
* Strong communication & computer skills,
* Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
