Your role and responsibilities Reporting to the Community Liaison Manager, you will lead community liaison for a specific geographical area in Suffolk and you will: develop strong and effective links between Suffolk Highways and local parish, town, district / borough, and county councillors act as the as the main point of contact for technical, legal, and procedural advice to your team and for escalated issues oversee the development and implementation of locally generated speed, safety, minor improvement and maintenance schemes ensuring they achieve the desired outcomes whilst being proportional, provide value for money and with sound asset management principles embedded promote appropriate culture and behaviours and embed these in a customer focused team that establishes and maintains strong and effective relationships with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders. You will need to ideally have a relevant professional qualification or have significant experience in a relevant field or project management considerable experience of successfully managing a range of complex projects in highways engineering, speed and road safety, highways design or similar technical disciplines to be able to demonstrate technical ability and an understanding of the use of plans and drawings understanding of Construction Design Management and Health and Safety Legislation considerable experience of working effectively and persuasively in a political environment very confident and persuasive communicator.
