You’ll lead the development and delivery of our information security programme, protecting our systems, data, and digital assets from evolving threats. Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Security Strategy & Governance: Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s information security strategy, policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements; lead the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on ISO 27001; conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Security Operations & Incident Response: Oversee day‑to‑day operation of security systems and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, anti‑malware, vulnerability scanners, data encryption); manage vulnerability management programs, penetration testing, and remediation; lead incident response, including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post‑incident review; develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
* Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations (HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials+); coordinate internal and external audits and remediate findings; deliver security awareness training and manage third‑party risk assessments.
* Infrastructure Security: Collaborate with IT operations to embed security in cloud, network, server, and endpoint environments; manage access controls, identity management, and privileged access management; oversee patching and configuration management.
* Management & Leadership: Lead and mentor a security team, manage vendor relationships, prepare the IT security budget, and communicate risks and performance metrics to senior management.
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Demonstrable experience in information security and creating cyber security roadmaps.
* Strong understanding of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, Cyber Essentials.
* Hands‑on experience with firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, EDR, identity management solutions.
* Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP).
* Proven incident response and security incident management experience.
* Familiarity with GDPR and other privacy regulations.
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
* Experience building technology improvement programs and managing third‑party suppliers.
* Evidence of visionary leadership and inspiring others to deliver.
* Technical aptitude in IT operations and infrastructure.
Desired Certifications (one or more is a plus)
* CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
* CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
* CompTIA Security+
* CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
* Cloud security certifications (Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, etc.)
