We are seeking a warm, creative and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a dedicated team for the 2025–2026 academic year.
At this school, they provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where all children are supported to become confident learners. Year 2 is a crucial time for building strong foundations in reading, writing and maths, and we are looking for someone who can make learning engaging and meaningful.
Duties as a Year 2 Teacher:
* Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons aligned with the Year 2 National Curriculum.
* Prepare pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 assessments in a supportive and pressure-free way.
* Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes children’s wellbeing and academic development.
* Use a range of teaching strategies to engage all learners, including those with SEND, EAL or additional needs.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and support staff to ensure excellent outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support home–school partnerships.
* Contribute to the wider school life including school events, trips, assemblies and enrichment activities.
* Engage in professional development and contribute to the school's ongoing improvement.
Ideal Year 2 Teacher:
* Be a caring and reflective practitioner with high expectations of all pupils.
* Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
* Have a good understanding of phonics (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc.) and early assessment frameworks.
* Be confident in preparing pupils for KS1 SATs while maintaining a child-centred approach.
* Be committed to developing their own practice and supporting colleagues.
* Bring enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility to the role.
* Have QTS
