Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to work within the Therapies and Education Service at Rampton Hospital.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver learning strategies alongside and under the supervision of a Lecturer. The post holder will support patients who have various educational and neurodiverse needs. The successful candidate will join an established team of educators and support the work they are doing.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled Worker visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa.

Responsibilities
* Support patients within a day unit setting and on the wards, delivering learning strategies under supervision of a Lecturer.
* Aim for patients to achieve educational goals, work towards recovery, and develop the requisite skills to access their treatment pathway.
* Be empathetic, observant and confident; patient care is paramount when working with individuals who have severe mental health issues. Keeping patients engaged and fostering a passion for teaching and learning are essential.
* Collaborate as part of a team; work closely with other education staff and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
