Advanced Podiatrist - FCP

CDDFT Podiatry Department are looking for an enthusiasticand committed Podiatrist to join our diverse team. The post is for 37.5 hoursas a FCP within the Derwentside locality based at Consett Medical Practice.
Take aclinical lead role for a specialist area of podiatry work within all areas includinghigh risk, diabetic foot, Biomechanics, MSK and general Assessments.
Provideprofessional leadership to the wider Team and act as an expert practitionerresource, leading by example.
Employsspecialist techniques and programmes of care in the treatment of patients
Providesspecialist podiatry advice both within and externally to the Trust
Assessesand treats patients within the team caseload of patients with specialised careneeds which includes adults and paediatrics, self-referrals from patients andreferrals from other practitioners and disciplines
Undertaketraining of other staff and students
Leadby example on service transformation activity and maintain the Teams focus oncontinuous service improvement and value for money
Main duties of the job
To beresponsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation andevaluation of podiatric care for patients within a team caseload withspecialised care needs
To employthe use of specialist techniques and care programmes in the treatment ofpatients
To act asa lead clinician providing specialist advice to and accepting referrals fromboth podiatrists within the department and clinicians in other fields
To provideappropriate podiatric health education to patients and carers
To ensurethat all interventions are designed using, where possible, evidence basedpractice and to evaluate outcomes
To workacross acute, community and primary health care sectors as part of amultidisciplinary team with direct input to patient care, often highly complexindividual cases, and acting as a source of advice to medical colleagues, otherhealth care professionals, patients and carers
To beresponsible for the maintenance of appropriate documentation for patientrecords, reports, audits and Departmental standards
Provideclinical leadership for the team through the effective implementation of allorganisational policies and procedures

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Person Specification
Special Requirements
* Ability to work under pressure
Experience
* Graduation from a School of Podiatric Medicine
* Experience of working within a broad range of podiatric conditions including MSK and high risk/diabetic foot, Nail surgery and general assessments.
* Evidence of working as a FCP
Statutory Registration
* HCPC
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine
* Evidence of CPD
Special Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, including persuasive and reassurance skills which are essential in the effective communication of complex and sensitive information to patients and in communication with other health care professionals.
* Good organisational skills
