About the Role
An inclusive and welcoming primary school is seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join their team on a full-time basis from after May half term. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated HLTA who is passionate about supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with class teachers, leadership staff, and support teams to help pupils reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
* Delivering planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
* Supporting the planning and assessment of learning in line with the national curriculum
* Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a purposeful, engaging learning environment
* Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, EAL, and varying ability levels
* Monitoring, recording, and feeding back on pupils' progress and achievements
* Working collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning materials and approaches
* Providing pastoral support and contributing to pupils' social and emotional development
* Supporting classroom routines and contributing to the wider life of the school
* Upholding safeguarding, wellbeing, and health & safety standards at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
* Strong experience working within a primary school setting
* Confidence delivering lessons independently across different year groups
* A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice
* A genuine passion for education and supporting children to succeed
