Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Harrow, which is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a degree-qualified individual who is considering a career in teaching or education and is eager to make a meaningful impact on students\' academic and personal development.
Responsibilities
* Provide in-class support across key subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
* Work one-to-one and in small groups with students who may need additional academic or emotional support.
* Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver interventions and promote positive learning behaviour.
* Assist in preparing and adapting lesson materials to suit a range of student needs.
* Support students\' social and emotional growth, contributing to a positive school culture.
* Gain valuable insight and experience ideal for those pursuing teacher training in the future.
Requirements
* A degree (or equivalent) is essential.
* Experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, etc.) is highly desirable.
* A patient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting student learning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine interest in education and potential plans for teacher training.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
