Job Description
Digital Print Studio Operative
RHM Event Graphics - Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
Advertised salary: £25,000 - £30,000 p/a
The role
Working predominantly with artwork supplied by our clients, you will be expected to prepare and process it for a number of different production methods. This will most often be operating our large format Mimaki and Canon printers, but it can also be printing direct to substrates using our 3200mm wide EFI 30H hybrid printer, cutting vinyl on our Graphtec plotters, or preparing cut files for production on one of our CNC routers. You will be expected to produce job briefs and visuals that accurately reflect what is being produced for each job. These also provide the information needed for both our finishing department and our on-site fitters, who are the next steps in the production process.
Your role will involve communicating with other departments within RHM as well as occasionally speaking directly with clients and suppliers, so good communication skills and fluency in English are important. You will be expected to develop an understanding of the materials, substrates and processes we use. All jobs produced have to be checked off against the original artwork before leaving the studio so attention to detail is paramount. The nature of our business means that there will be times of pressure and short deadlines, requiring a candidate who can cope well under such circumstances. It also means that work outside our usual office hours (9am to 5:30pm) can be required, sometimes at short notice, so a degree of flexibility and a ‘get things done’ attitude are welcomed!
About you
We would look favourably on previous working experience in a print environment, particularly knowledge of the Caldera RIP software, to allow the successful candidate to get up to speed as quickly as possible but this is not essential as training would be provided where necessary. One key requirement is that any potential candidates have a thorough understanding of Adobe Illustrator. All the artwork we receive is processed through Illustrator so this is vital and applications who cannot demonstrate proficiency in Illustrator will not be considered. Knowledge of other applications from the Adobe suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat) is helpful but not imperative. An interest and understanding of the print industry and/or the events industry would also be beneficial.
Because we are a close-knit company with only a dozen full-time employees, picking the right person for the role is almost as important as picking the person with the right CV. We do therefore welcome applications from candidates whose background might not be from within the print industry, but who can demonstrate an appetite to carve out a career with us and who we feel would be a positive fit for the company.

Previously based in High Barnet, we relocated to a premises twice the size in Borehamwood in 2025 and are looking to continue growing the company in the coming years.
