This is an exciting opportunity to join the Plasma Cell Disorders Service within the Haematology Service at King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill). The team is committed to the delivery of high quality and innovative care, working with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care. King's College Hospital is a busy transplant centre and the candidate would play a key role in the management of patients undergoing transplantation and communication with referring centres. The Plasma Cell Disorders Service is research‑focused, running a comprehensive portfolio of trials including bispecific antibodies and CAR‑T cell therapy. We are passionate about education and the candidate would be expected to contribute to teaching and training opportunities.
Main duties of the job
 * Subspecialty clinical advice to colleagues in Primary Care and to haematology specialists as part of a regional MDT.
 * Inpatient and outpatient management including bispecific antibodies and cellular therapies.
 * Inpatient attending and on‑call service.
 * Contribution to clinical trial delivery, leadership and development.
 * Maintaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with KCL and KHP.
 * Maintenance of standards with regard to transplant and cellular therapies as per accrediting and regulatory bodies (HTA/JACIE).
 * Clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with consultant colleagues.
 * Contribution to audit programmes, morbidity and mortality and learning from deaths.
 * Exercise professional leadership for all staff working in the specialty.
 * Lead and contribute to initiatives to provide innovative care.

Job responsibilities
The Plasma Cell Disorders service at Kings College Hospital, in partnership with the service at Guys and St Thomas Hospital, offers a comprehensive, tertiary service for the SE of England. The post holder will be responsible for inpatient and outpatient management of patients with plasma cell disorders, participate in relevant MDMs and be involved in teaching and training. Active participation in translational research is also expected. Whilst the post will be based at Kings College Hospital Denmark Hill site, the post holder will contribute to the strategic direction and development of the service for the benefit of the SE London network and the wider SE England catchment population.
Key duties and responsibilities
 * Provide high quality care to patients.
 * Provide 24/7 on‑call cover for the unit and cover for colleagues’ leave and sickness.
 * Provide clinical supervision of junior medical/dental practitioners.
 * Carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties, contributing to CPD and clinical governance initiatives.
 * Commit to outpatient clinic duties at peripheral hospitals as per the Care Groups management team.
 * Contribute to the Care Groups research interests in line with the Trust's R&D framework.
 * Contribute to audit programmes, Morbidity and Mortality, Clinical Governance programmes and Learning from Deaths.
 * Assist with service planning and development with internal and external agencies.
 * Operate within the contracted level of service and operating plan.
 * Exercise professional leadership for all staff working in the specialty, fostering projects that enhance professional education.

Person Specification
Qualifications
 * Essential: Registerable medical qualification, Full MRCP.
 * Desirable: Other higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD).
Registration
 * Essential: Full Registration with GMC; name on GMC Specialist Register on date of taking up appointment; within 6 months of CCT, in final stages of portfolio application, or fully registered on the GMC Specialist Register.
Training and Experience
 * Essential: Wide experience in all aspects of plasma cell disorders, culminating in award of Certificate of Completion of Training by GMC or completed portfolio pathway application.
Administration and Management and Leadership
 * Essential: Experience in day‑to‑day organisation of plasma cell disorder services in a busy teaching hospital; familiarity with IT and general computer skills; knowledge of NHS structure and initiatives; leadership capability within multidisciplinary teams.
 * Desirable: Management course and/or qualification.
Audit and Quality Improvement
 * Essential: Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit; publication of relevant review articles or case reports.
 * Desirable: Relevant research experience in one or more aspects of plasma cell disorders.
Teaching
 * Essential: Experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and exam preparation.
 * Desirable: Teaching skills course/qualification.
