This post will include responsibility for patients within our metabolic bone service and across a broad spectrum of rheumatology. There will be opportunities to develop the metabolic bone service, forge closer links with colleagues in other specialties, and participate in regional and national initiatives, including the NHSE Adult Rare Bone Disease Network and the National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit. The role involves managing a mixed caseload, including new and follow-up patients, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and regional advice services.
Main duties include working in a busy outpatient department with X-ray and DXA facilities, contributing to teaching, research, and audit activities, and supporting our on-call service and inpatient care. The team comprises 17 NHS consultant rheumatologists, with ongoing expansion supported by recent investment.
This position is to join a current rheumatology consultant with a special interest in metabolic bone medicine. The successful applicant will be supported to develop their own subspecialty interests.

Job responsibilities
