Overview
Customer Delivery Driver – Ivybridge Lee Mill Extra at Tesco. Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; opportunities for 12 hours with flexibility are also available.
As the face of Tesco out on the road, you will meet and talk to customers in their homes. This role is about delivering great service with a smile, and involves hands-on, physical work with variety. There is a team of Managers and colleagues back at base to support you when needed.
Availability windows are provided in the role; contracted hours are scheduled with three weeks’ notice. We are open to hearing from applicants whose availability closely matches the advertised times.
Responsibilities
* Deliver your part of the customer shopping trip and keep van and trays clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean and pick up litter as needed; ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van, check roadworthiness, and communicate any changes to customers (item substitutions, refunds as appropriate).
* Deliver within the customer’s time slot and call ahead if arriving early; inform the store if running late by 30 minutes or more.
Requirements
* Build positive relationships with colleagues to support store goals and customer experience.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues; respond quickly to changing customer needs.
* Energetic, driven to exceed expectations, and able to balance work and personal life.
* Share ideas with managers on how to improve the store for customers.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
