Position Details
Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Term Time + 5 days
Salary: NJC Grade 6 SCP 18-20 or NJC grade 7 SCP 23-25 depending on experience
Start Date: September 2026, can be discussed for right candidate
Closing date: Monday 11th May 2026
Main Duties
* Working with children with moderate‑severe learning disabilities which may include ASD, Down Syndrome and ADHD.
* Planning and delivering various therapeutic approaches according to a student’s needs.
* Delivering therapy on a 1:1, small group and class‑based basis.
* Working in collaboration with other members of the therapy team including the School Therapies team (OT, SALT, and Behaviour team) as well as external therapists.
* Working closely alongside teachers and TAs both within the classroom and out.
* Providing training to staff and parents.
* Reporting to Band 8 Speech and Language Therapy/Therapies Lead.
* Supervision from in‑house Occupational Therapist.
Support & Development
The successful candidate will receive an excellent supervision package and opportunities to attend SIGS and CPD training events.

The role is subject to a 6-month probationary period. The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check, a barred list check, medical clearance and satisfactory references.
