Elevation Recruitment Group are retained by Radius Aerospace to recruit a Head of Manufacturing for their Sheffield operation.
This is a senior leadership position within a growing aerospace manufacturing business supplying complex fabricated components and assemblies into global commercial aviation, military and industrial markets.
The Head of Manufacturing role offers the chance to take ownership of a large-scale manufacturing operation with real autonomy and influence. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead manufacturing performance across the site while driving improvements in quality, delivery, productivity and culture.

The business
Radius Aerospace has been at the forefront of aerospace fabrication for more than 50 years and operates across multiple facilities in the UK and US.
The Sheffield site employs around 250 people and manufactures technically complex fabricated components and assemblies using specialist processes including titanium hot forming, super plastic forming, chemical milling, specialty alloy welding and complex assembly.
The business operates in a highly regulated environment where quality, compliance and operational performance are critical. They are looking for a Head of Manufacturing who can lead from the front, develop capability across the operation and help drive the business through its next stage of growth.
The role
The Head of Manufacturing will hold full responsibility for manufacturing and production performance across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading Manufacturing, Operations Managers and Business Unit Managers across the operation
* Driving improvements in on time delivery, productivity, scrap reduction and cost control
* Championing Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activity across the shop floor
* Ensuring compliance with aerospace standards including AS9100
* Supporting new product introduction and operational readiness for new processes
* Building a strong safety culture with clear accountability and visible leadership
* Working closely with Quality and Engineering teams to improve process robustness and inspection standards
* Supporting succession planning, leadership development and skills growth across manufacturing teams
* Ensuring maintenance strategies support operational uptime and performance
The person
To be considered for the Head of Manufacturing role, you must be able to demonstrate:
* Significant experience in a senior manufacturing or operations leadership role
* A background within aerospace manufacturing
* Strong knowledge of regulated manufacturing standards and compliance requirements
* Proven experience implementing and sustaining Lean and Continuous Improvement programmes
* The ability to lead strategically while remaining visible and hands on when required
* Experience leading large operational teams through change and performance improvement
* Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, challenge and develop teams
* Engineering or Manufacturing qualifications would be beneficial, although experience will carry equal weight
* The successful Head of Manufacturing will be someone who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving operational performance and leaving a lasting mark on a business.
