Experience required
Essential:
8. Degree in a related technical field (Environmental/Civil Engineering) or equivalent experience
9. Working in Flood Risk Management in the private or public sector (such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities or Internal Drainage Boards)
10. Awareness of relevant legislation, planning policy, guides and design standards relating to flood risk management and drainage strategies
11. A sound understanding of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and statutory duties relating to surface water drainage
12. Experience of delivering and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments/Flood Consequence Assessments and or Drainage Strategies to supporting planning applications
13. Experience of using or producing strategic flood risk management documents such as Strategic Flood Risk Assessments/Strategic Flood Consequence Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans or Local Flood Risk Management Strategies
14. Experience of flood investigation work such as delivering Section 19 Flood Investigations
15. Experience of stakeholder engagement both internally and externally on projects or responding to customer queries and requests for information
16. Experience of writing technical and non-technical reports
Desirable:
17. A full UK driving license
18. Chartered or working towards Chartered status
19. Experience of managing and analysing large datasets and GIS/design software (e.g. MapInfo, Arc, QGIS, AutoCAD)
20. Experience of working with outputs from modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow
21. Able to provide drainage and flood risk management advice from a regulatory perspective
