Overview
Deputy Head of Healthcare – HMP Holme House. Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a Deputy Head of Healthcare to support the Heads of Healthcare in the management and leadership of complex prison sites, delivering 24/7 high-quality clinical and operational healthcare within HMP Holme House. The postholder is responsible for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the prison under delegated authority from the Head of Healthcare and may lead the development of particularly complex delivery areas. The postholder will manage service level agreements, ensure performance-monitoring standards are adhered to, and uphold high standards of care. They will ensure compliance with essential standards of quality and safety and be guided by general policies and interpretation as required.
The postholder will deputise for the Head of Healthcare in their absence and support them across duties, attending and leading internal and external stakeholder meetings as required.
Responsibilities
* Have delegated responsibility from the Head of Healthcare for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services to maximise the delivery of high-quality healthcare across the prison.
* Support the management of all service level agreements and subcontractors, ensuring performance-monitoring standards are adhered to and the highest standards of patient care are maintained.
* Lead on QOF and HJIPs, providing support to the Clinical Coder and any healthcare professionals or subcontractors to ensure accurate health records for patients with Long-Term Conditions.
* Deliver non-judgmental, compassionate care within the financial framework that is safe, high quality and in line with CQC requirements, through adherence to policies and procedures and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
* Ensure a workforce development plan that provides effective clinical supervision and appraisal, identifies training needs, and informs development plans to meet current and future needs.
* Directly line-manage senior staff including senior clinical nursing staff and clinical leads, providing clinical leadership to the full staff team.
* Facilitate the delivery of efficient and effective clinical services through recruitment, retention and development of multidisciplinary staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience in operational management of clinical services within a secure or comparable environment.
* Ability to manage service level agreements and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
