Job Title: Freight Forwarder

Job Purpose:
Due to the continued growth of our Forwarding Division, we are seeking to employ additional experienced Freight Forwarders to join our Team in Belfast.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic fast-growing Business to process and administer worldwide freight movements and supply chain solutions.
The role will primarily deal with Imports but there is also a requirement to be involved in General Forwarding, including exports.
Main Duties:
General
* Handle enquiries from customers and suppliers
* Dealing with customer booking requests
* To provide quotations for customers as required
* Arranging and booking shipments with shipping lines
* Making bookings on Azyra Freight System (prior knowledge not essential)
* Dealing with other transport and haulage companies
* Managing the movement of freight in and out of the country, including completing appropriate documentation and paperwork as required
* Communicating with the authorities eg HMRC
* Developing and implementing effective and constructive solutions to challenges in import/ export activity
* Negotiate rates and secure transportation services with carriers, shipping lines and trucking companies
* Liaising with internal warehousing to co-ordinate freight activities
* Keeping customers up-to-date with shipping information
* Coordinating customs clearance with in-house customs team
* Develop current and new business
* Deal with multiple shipments in a fast-moving industry.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
* Minimum of 3 years' operational experience in Forwarding
* GCSE English and Mathematics grade C or above or equivalent qualifications
* Knowledge of Import procedures and understanding of customs
* Solid knowledge of Incoterms, shipping lines, trade lanes, and documentation.
* Good Knowledge of Import/Export documentation
* Proficient IT Skills with working knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel and Word
* Professional attitude with knowledge of customer service and expectation
* Enthusiastic, hardworking, well organised and able to prioritise
* Ability and confidence to work on own initiative and be pro-active
* Have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work under the pressure of tight timescales and deadlines
* Ability to work with others, and willing to contribute to team communications
* Excellent communication skills required, ability to develop customer relationships
* Attention to detail paramount
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to transport.
Desirable Criteria:
Educated to A Level or equivalent
Transport related qualification
Experience of FCL and LCL.
Salary:
To be discussed during interview stage- negotiable on experience
Hours of Work: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday however you may be expected to be flexible with working hours and may be required to cover other times as and when required.
