 
        
        Commercial Services Manager – Environment Agency

Responsibilities
 * Support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team in overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
 * Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term partnership arrangements.
 * Develop strong relationships internally with Project Management teams and externally with contractors.
 * Provide expert knowledge of contractual and commercial interpretations within a high‑performing team.
 * Participate in incident response duties as required and undertake necessary training.
Qualifications
 * Essential education: A‑Level, Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
 * Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
 * Stakeholder management experience.
 * Strong data and document management skills.
 * Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportional risks, and deliver value for money.
 * Administration skills – organisation, minute‑taking, and report drafting.
 * Willingness to undertake professional qualifications (e.g. NEC, CIPS) and ask questions to drive development.
 * Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
 * Degree or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
 * Working towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS or RICS.
 * Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
