Purpose of Post

The role of the Breakfast and Afterschool Club Assistant: 22.5 hours per week (TERM TIME ONLY)

* To provide professional day to day running and to deliver the highest standards of care and education to the Club and the children who attend
* To implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
* To ensure that all children attending the Club are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experience which support all aspects and components of the EYFS curriculum
* To meet the requirements of regulatory bodies (OFSTED) and relation to EYFS matters, special needs, child protection, safeguarding, Health and Safety and to ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
* To lift toys and set up hall to support children's learning and interests.
* To move tables and seats for children to sit at and complete activities.
* To ensure ALL toys and equipment are checked and put away in a tidy and well maintained manner.

* Directors of Community Family Services Ltd
* Afterschool Manager

Key Responsibilities:

* Promote high standards of quality within the Club in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
* Ensure that all children attending the Club receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
* Ensure that practice and provision in the Club is in line with Ofsted's guidance and meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Assist with planning for the EYFS curriculum, maintain accurate and effective children's records, recording progression and evaluating practice in readiness for their next steps.
* Ensure that ALL children are kept safe and ALL staff understand, when necessary, to follow Safeguarding Procedures.
* Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/ carers and other family members. Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
* Establish, develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies.
* Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, school, area SENCO and other agencies.
* Create and maintain a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the Club.
* Be fully aware of and adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures. Be responsible for ensuring that all staff receive Health and Safety briefing as part of their induction.
* Ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents and carers, the team and any visitors.
* Be responsible for ensuring the Club remains compliant in respect of suitably trained staff with relevant first aid qualifications.
* A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities.
* Attend monthly staff meetings outside of working hours.
* Maintain accurate records and accounts for the Club and produce management information as required.
* Facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations.
* Ensure accurate reporting in respect of occupancy, quality and standards.
* Be part of a well- qualified and experienced team able to meet and exceed all relevant standards. Identify training needs; develop training plans and evaluate training undertaken by staff.
* Develop open and positive working relationships with ALL staff/management.
* Proactively represent the Company and advance its interests in the local community. Promote the Club to current parents and potential customers.
* Ensure and maintain friendly and professional relationships with parents and carers.
* Be responsible for administrative duties associated with the Club, such as maintaining children's records, ordering equipment, maintaining inventories and keeping personnel records.
* Ensure that all of the Company's policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Directors.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £13.00 per hour
