Great opportunity to work as a Line Leader for our client a leading food production facility specialising in processing and packing cooked meats, including bacon and other pork products, for major UK retailers.
Staffline is recruiting a Line Leader in Bodmin.
The rate of pay is £14.18 per hour.
Overtime is available and is paid at £21.27 per hour.
This is a full-time role working fixed shifts Monday to Friday, and the hours of work are:
- 4pm to 12am (midnight)
Your Time at Work
As a Line Leader, your duties include:
Supervising and Coordinating Line Activities:
- Organise the production line according to daily targets and ensure all team members are in the correct positions.
- Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks or issues, and take immediate corrective action to keep production on track.
- Ensure changeovers and start-ups run efficiently and within expected timelines.
Ensuring Product Quality and Compliance:
- Conduct visual checks on product quality and ensure the team follows the correct procedures for hygiene, food safety, and traceability.
- Complete quality paperwork and escalate any non-conformities to the Quality or Technical team.
- Make sure the product meets customer and company specifications at all times.
Leading and Supporting the Team:
- Act as the first point of contact for operatives on the line; offer guidance, answer questions, and resolve minor issues.
- Train new starters and coach existing staff to improve performance and maintain high standards.
- Encourage teamwork, communication, and a positive working environment.

- Standing for long periods of time - The role involves working on the production line throughout the shift.
- Manual handling - May include lifting, carrying, or moving products, equipment, or trays (within safe limits and following manual handling training).
- Working in a chilled environment - The factory floor is temperature-controlled to maintain food safety, so appropriate PPE will be provided.
Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., Line Leader, Team Leader, or Key Operative) in a food production or manufacturing environment is required.
