Offer description

SEND Teacher role within a specialist Autism (ASC) provision supporting Upper KS2 and KS3 pupils. Small classes of up to 8 pupils, strong staff support and a structured environment focused on personalised learning, engagement and independence.

The Role

An established specialist provision is seeking a SEND Teacher to support pupils within an ASC pathway across Upper KS2 and KS3.

Teachers benefit from small class sizes and strong support staffing, allowing for highly personalised teaching and meaningful pupil progress.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and moderate learning difficulties
• Delivering an adapted curriculum linked to EHCP outcomes
• Planning differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
• Working with classes of up to 8 pupils with support staff in the classroom
• Collaborating closely with LSAs, therapists and specialist professionals
• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to EHCP reviews and target setting
• Building strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals

The provision encourages creative teaching approaches and structured learning routines to support engagement and development.

The Pupils

Students within this specialist pathway benefit from:

• Structured and predictable learning environments
• Personalised programmes based on EHCP outcomes
• High staff-to-pupil ratios
• Support with communication, social development and independence

Pupils typically have Autism (ASC), moderate learning difficulties and additional communication or sensory needs.

The Ideal SEND Teacher

The school is looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEN or Autism
• Can deliver differentiated lessons across mixed learning abilities
• Understands EHCP-led teaching and individual learning approaches
• Is patient, adaptable and passionate about inclusive education

Experience within special schools, autism provisions, SEN units or alternative provision would be highly desirable.

Why Apply

• Small classes of just 8 pupils
• Strong staff-to-pupil ratios
• Supportive specialist SEN environment
• Opportunities to develop autism specialist teaching experience
• Collaborative and welcoming staff team
