Job Description

New Directions Education is currently recruiting a caring and enthusiastic Qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to work in a warm and welcoming nursery setting in Aintree. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and nurturing team, supporting the early learning and development of young children during the most important stage of their education journey.

About the Nursery:

1. A well-established and inclusive nursery in Aintree, providing a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for children aged 0–5 years.
2. The nursery promotes curiosity, creativity, and independence through a play-based curriculum designed to help every child reach their full potential.
3. Staff work closely as a team and benefit from continuous professional development opportunities, ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained.

The Role:

4. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with room leaders and practitioners to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
5. Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development while encouraging independence and positive behaviour.
6. Assist with the observation and assessment of children’s progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
7. Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all children at all times.
8. Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues to support each child’s individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate:

9. Have experience working within an early years or nursery setting, supporting children’s care, learning, and development.
10. Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or equivalent.
11. Have a sound understanding of the EYFS framework and the ability to put it into practice.
12. Be a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for helping young children learn and grow.
13. Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already in place
