We are seeking to hire an experienced professional with Consumer and CPG sector knowledge and enthusiasm to join our growing team.

Join our market-leading Consumer strategy consulting team, widely recognised by our clients for our insight and deep sector expertise. We have extensive experience at the forefront of strategy and transformation as we serve leading players in the nonlife insurance industry (insurers, brokers and others) as they build industry-leading solutions and deliver differentiated offerings.

Create impactful strategies: our work is highly varied, advising on some of the most ambitious strategic programmes in the sector, including:

* Growth and enterprise/business unit strategy
* Commercial analysis and business case development
* Strategic business and operating model design
* Market analyses, including competitive scanning and identifying opportunities for new market entry
* Shaping transformation programmes to effectively deliver strategy
* Senior executive and Board facilitation of complex issues

The role sits within the Consumer Strategy Consulting team, part of Deloitte's wider Consumer Industry practice. As a Senior Manager you will gain a wide variety of skills and experiences across a range of engagements. You’ll play a vital role in conceiving strategies for our clients, planning the implementation, and at times strategy delivery.

Client engagements are predominantly with organisations facing important, often profound, transitions. Engagements are typically driven by CEOs, business unit leaders, and other members of the senior management team. Client engagements may be as short as a few months, but can also evolve into multi-year, wide-ranging and tranformative relationships. We not only bring our clients the insight and unconventional thinking that help them form strategies to anticipate disruption and respond to change – we also use our experience and knowledge to help them bring those strategies to life.

We bring a rigorous, evidence-based analytical capability to help our clients solve their most pressing and complex issues. We help them reveal insight and deliver value through pragmatic recommendations. Our approach is to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identify opportunities and enable them to develop and deliver solutions across their whole organisation.

As a Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include:

* Leadership: independently leading engagements from scoping through to delivery
* Analysis and insight: leading execution of rigorous and insightful analysis to build an evidence base to support strategy development and change
* Tools, skills and frameworks: utilising effectively those tools that can be brought to bear on new client problems, and shared as best practice within the team
* Team management: managing and supporting junior resources in order to ensure successful project delivery
* Relationship management: working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, taking the lead in developing strong professional relationships and liaising with teams to deliver a seamless client experience
* Continuous Learning: proactively developing your own skills, seeking feedback, building knowledge, and sharing your insight with colleagues
* Taking a leadership role in the management of the practice and business development

To be successful in the role, candidates should bring strong strategy skills and experience in management consulting, demonstrating strong performance and academic credentials. We are looking for people who positively enjoy addressing complex problems in an analytical manner, with a proven record for effective delivery in a project environment and a strong background in the Non-life insurance sector.

To qualify for the role we are looking for:

* Direct experience of strategy and transformation within a consulting firm, or a strategic role within a consumer enterprise
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams to successfully deliver initiatives within an organisation and/or client facing projects
* A good understanding of the CPG and Consumer industry, including the value chain, macro trends and disruptive technologies/models (Cloud, Big Data & AI, Digital platform models) that are driving change and impacting business models of key institutions
* A good understanding of how to construct and evidence compelling strategic arguments and creativity in identifying evidence sources
* Experience of proposition development alongside designers and engineers, including; identifying target segments, creating design specifications, MVP processes and commercial models
* A strong academic track record
* Flexibility to travel

We are looking for applicants who can clearly demonstrate the following:

* Outstanding records of academic / professional achievement
* Industry or sector-specific qualifications (e.g. completion or courses or relevant certificates)
* Demonstrable experience and understanding of relevant products and distribution in the sub-sector and their impact on the strategies of brokers and carriers
* Understanding of insurance P&Ls and balance sheets for UK general insurers, global commercial / specialty insurers, reinsurance companies and London Market businesses
* Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, and/or extracurricular setting
* Exceptional intellectual horsepower, including strong critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and the capacity for lateral/creative thinking to solve ambiguous problems
* An entrepreneurial spirit with experience in business development
* Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
* Ability to anticipate the long-term impact of decisions and take a broad approach to problem-solving
* Demonstrated experience making a positive impact in their work and communities
