Senior Care Assistant
Location: Beechwood Care Home, Romanby Road
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high‑quality care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to implement care plans effectively. This role involves supervising junior staff and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and team members.
Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
* Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care.
* Supervise and support junior staff, providing guidance and leadership to enhance team performance.
* Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their condition.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
* Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in residential and nursing care.
* Administer medication to residents.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a senior care role is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
* Familiarity with record‑keeping and communication IT systems used in care homes is advantageous.
* A genuine passion for working with residents and enhancing their quality of life through compassionate care.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
