The post holder will support various aspects of this busy service, with a commitment to an out of hours rota. The daytime role will be affiliated to one of our elective services. The post holder will attend clinics, theatre sessions and ward rounds as per allocation in a weekly firm timetable. Person specification Training & Qualifications Essential criteria MBBS or equivalent Full GMC Registration with licence to practice in the UK Full MRCS (UK) or equivalent ALS or equivalent Experience Essential criteria Good and wide-ranging recent experience of general surgery in an acute inpatient setting in a large/ tertiary hospital NHS Experience of at least 12 months Evidence of completion of key competencies equivalent to at least CT2 level Evidence of working out of hours with limited support Experience of supervising junior colleagues Desirable criteria Evidence of training in surgical skills and trauma management/ critical surgical care Teaching, Audit & Research Essential criteria Evidence of participation in clinical audit/quality improvement Experience and enthusiasm for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching Desirable criteria Commitment and enthusiasm for professional development as evidenced by undertaking of courses/ programmes of post graduate study Come and join our wonderful team at NUH.
