Systems Engineer – Photon-Counting Detector Technology
Salary: Up to CAD 130,000

Join our Verification & Validation (V&V) team and play a key role in delivering world-leading photon-counting detector technology to top-tier OEMs in photon-counting computed tomography (PCCT).
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll work across verification, validation, and system integration, ensuring peak detector performance and imaging accuracy. You’ll collaborate with design, manufacturing, and QA teams while using advanced statistical analysis and structured problem-solving to drive product excellence.
Your Role & Impact:
System Validation & Test Engineering:
* Develop and execute test plans to correlate detector performance with in-system CT imaging accuracy.
* Optimize x-ray test protocols to enhance precision and reliability.
* Define and document hardware/software requirements for comprehensive verification and validation.
Product Verification & Compliance:
* Implement robust verification frameworks, ensuring traceability to product specifications.
* Oversee data acquisition, processing, and reporting, integrating industry best practices.
* Participate in design reviews with external teams and customers, focusing on testability and validation.
Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
* Lead structured problem-solving efforts to diagnose system failures and anomalies.
* Support failure mode analysis and collaborate with the reliability team on product performance improvements.
* Apply statistical tools (JMP) and coding (Python, MATLAB, etc.) to drive advanced data analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Engagement:
* Work closely with design, QA, and manufacturing teams to integrate verification processes into product development.
* Participate in customer meetings, demonstrating technical expertise and a customer-centric approach.
* Ensure quality and compliance in all verification and validation activities.
What You Bring to the Table(Must Have):
* Min 3 years of product testing or debugging of complex hardware/ software/devices/systems
* Strong Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Verification & Validation
* Experience of data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python) or similar, including writing code
* Statistical tools such as JMP
* Degree in Systems or electrical engineering, engineering physics, physics, or biophysics, focused on troubleshooting and debugging—80% hardware debugging and 20% software debugging
Preferred Experience (Bonus Points!)
* Experience in X-ray detection, semiconductor devices, or instrumentation products.
* Hands-on experience with mixed-signal electronics and ASIC design.
* Background in ISO9001 / ISO13485 regulated environments.
* Exposure to product lifecycle development & validation in a high-tech setting.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or Biophysics.
