Deputy Head Housekeeper
Contract: Permanent | Salary: £27,259 per annum plus service charge and benefits | Location: Fowey Hall Hotel, Fowey, Cornwall.
Position Overview
As Deputy Head Housekeeper, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Housekeeper to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of service and contributing to the overall success of Fowey Hall Hotel.
This is a permanent role, 35 hours per week over 5 days (including weekends), with an annual salary of £27,259 plus generous service charge and a brilliant benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Housekeeper in managing and supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring adherence to the hotel's standards and procedures.
* Oversee cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to ensure they are immaculately presented.
* Train and mentor housekeeping staff, providing guidance on best practices, health and safety, and customer service.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with the Head Housekeeper to develop and implement innovative initiatives to enhance the guest experience and streamline operations.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a housekeeping department in a luxury 4 or 5‑star hotel.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, health and safety regulations.
* Experience managing rotas and payroll, and ordering and managing stock.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, working to tight timeframes and enjoying a physical role.
