Employment Adviser – Bath
Location: Bath (office-based)
Hours: 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

We’re recruiting an Employment Adviser to support participants in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving realistic job goals.
You will manage a caseload of participants, coaching and mentoring them, serving as their main trusted contact to build strong relationships, guide, motivate, and help them obtain sustainable employment.
Your approach will involve delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused service in a target‑driven environment, using your initiative and ability to work independently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
* Meet and exceed personal performance targets (Key Performance Indicators).
* Progressively manage a caseload of referred customers using appropriate strategies to help them overcome employment barriers.
* Deliver a positive experience to new customers, ensuring engagement with the programme.
* Achieve the required Customer Service Standards.
* Facilitate assessments with each individual to understand their circumstances, ambitions and goals.
* Provide advice on self‑employment basics and refer customers to a self‑employment specialist when needed.
* Co‑produce tailored Action Plans featuring SMART targets to enable positive progression.
* Provide support in job searching and interview preparation, ensuring a match to suitable roles.
* Assist customers with mastering digital technologies for guided self‑service learning and online job searches.
* Ensure all evidence requirements for job starts are met.
* Understand the local labour market to source suitable opportunities.
* Undertake direct marketing to employers using digital media.
* Market specific customers to employers and conduct tailored prescreens and group assessments.
* Develop relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., small businesses, chamber of commerce, JCP partnership managers).
* Maintain accurate hard‑copy and system records to meet compliance and quality standards.
* Develop knowledge of local sign‑posting services for disabilities, housing, benefits, etc., and apply it as appropriate.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to deliver excellent service.
* Act as an employee owner, considering the best interests of the company and colleagues.
* Identify and champion best practice.
* Work flexibly, including travel and overnight stays when required.
* Accountable for professional development and undertake training as identified.
* Handle personal data in line with the data protection policy.
* Promote Prevent and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* Adhere to company policies on safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, quality, health and safety, and IT.
* Carry out additional duties as required for the post.
Skills and Experience
* Good working knowledge of the local labour market.
* Basic knowledge of self‑employment.
* IT literacy using Microsoft Office.
* Experience working in a target‑driven environment.
* Experience delivering services to contractual and quality standards.
* Knowledge of the employability and recruitment industry.
* Experience providing information, advice and guidance.
* Full driving licence.
