This new role sits within the Education and Inclusion Services Directorate which provides high quality support services to 111 schools across Rhondda Cynon Taff. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of safeguarding within the directorate and lead safeguarding improvement actions for Education.
There is a strong commitment in RCT to supporting schools to develop highly effective safeguarding practice and this role will work in collaboration with other services across regional and corporate safeguarding groups to continually improve in this crucial area.
The successful candidate’s leadership will focus on ensuring that central Education staff, and staff within our schools, are well placed to respond effectively to current and emerging safeguarding issues. As well as promoting a culture of safeguarding the individual will link with colleagues in Children’s Services to ensure the directorate has a clear view of all matters and supports a robust response to any concerns. The individual will ensure compliance with legal and organisational standards, linking with other partners to provide the directorate’s contribution to Corporate and Regional Safeguarding.
The role will include line management of the MASH Education Coordinator and Education Appraisers who support the work of our Resilient Families Service.
