Catering Assistant
Location: Oaklands Hospital
Hours: 10 hours per week, Part-time
Oaklands Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our Hospitality Team. As a Catering Assistant you will be part of a team who ensure the preparation and delivery of a food and beverage service to patients.
The Catering Assistant will be responsible for the service of all food and drink to the patients on the wards including managing dietary requirements. Additional tasks will consist of the washing of cutlery and dishes, replenishing our hot drinks machines and explaining the daily menus across all meals.
You will be part of a team of Catering Assistants who are fundamental in ensuring that all work is carried out in a hygienic and methodical manner and that standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital are in line with our policies.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Serving meals to patients and staff in the dining room
2. Preparation of food and taking money
3. Cleaning the department after service
What you'll bring with you:
4. Experience in a catering environment
5. Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene
6. Experience within a healthcare environment
7. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
8. An ability to work independently and to manage own priorities and strict deadlines
