The role
Reporting into our Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, you'll work in the Development & Sales Legal Focus Area to undertake conveyancing transactions – both new build and general property disposals. This is a team that focuses on the disposals of existing properties, Shared Ownership and Open Market new build properties.
Your role will be vital in ensuring that our affordable housing customers have a seamless experience during their property purchase from SNG Homes.
Your main duties will include:
1. Preparing and issuing documents from precedent formats such as contracts, transfers and shared ownership leases.
2. Liaising with third parties such as buyers' solicitors and estate agents in order to progress sale transactions.
3. Obtaining updates to update our Sales and Development Teams.
4. Approving mortgages
5. Reviewing draft conveyance plans for compliance with the Land Registry's Practice Guide.
6. Dealing with or referring enquiries to Senior members of the team for comment.
7. Administrative activities relating to conveyancing transactions and general team administration and project driven activities and general administration.
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will have a qualification in property law or an equivalent level of knowledge gained from employment. You might have a law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law or have completed or be in the process of studying the Legal Practice Course or pursuing a qualification as a member of CILEX or a similar body. You'll also need:
8. Good planning skills with the ability to organise and prioritise your work effectively.
9. A foundation level of commercial awareness and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. High attention to detail with the ability to work flexibly to deliver our service.
12. Ability to develop strong working relationships within the Legal team, with internal clients and other third-party stakeholders.
13. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
