We are seeking a consultant to join a multidisciplinary team to shape a modernising mental health service following recent community and inpatient provision changes.
Location: Inpatient Unit at Laureate Hospital on the site of Wythenshawe Hospital, south Manchester.
Role: Responsible Clinician for Blake Ward, an 8‑bedded unit with 6 programmed activities. The post can be combined with additional part‑time consultants if required.
Responsibilities
* Job share with another part‑time consultant.
* Provide clinical leadership for the ward team and trainees.
* Conduct daily ward reviews and ward rounds; support completion of CPA.
* Undertake assessments of admissions to the service.
* Assist the team in diagnosing and formulating management plans for all presentations.
* Assess and manage risk including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and harm to others.
* Coordinate care with input from pharmacists.
* Prepare Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers' Hearings reports and attend subsequent hearings.
* Prepare consent to treatment paperwork and other MHA work such as Section 17 leave, section renewals, and CTOs if required.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including external partners and partner providers such as Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists.

Salary
£109,725 to £145,478 a year pro rata.
