About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the BSI Knowledge Solution Finance team as Senior Finance Analyst reporting into the Financial Controller.
The focus for the role of Senior Finance Analyst is supporting the Financial Controller with managing risk and controls for the Knowledge Solutions business and overseeing financial and reporting management of funding provided by the DBT (Department for Business and Trade) in support of standardization.
The DBT is responsible for UK Government policy on standards-making, accreditation, and conformity assessment, and works closely with BSI, the UK’s National Standards Body.
This role supports governance for the division, with accountability for UK government funded projects, especially with DBT.
Responsibilities:
This role offers exposure across governance, risk, controls, operations, and finance teams, involving interaction at both Executive and delivery levels within BSI and DBT. You will develop internal processes and reporting for robust governance over funded activities, focusing on financial robustness and clear reporting. You will also assist the Financial Controller with tasks supporting the finance framework for control and governance.
Funding responsibilities
* Manage all funding-related finances, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, balance sheet reporting, with proper documentation.
Secretariat & reporting
* Provide secretariat services for meetings (agenda, scheduling, minutes).
* Produce performance tracking reports annually as per GFA requirements.
Interactions
Act as the main contact for:
* BSI Finance Shared Service Centre, overseeing funded travel schemes and balance sheet review.
* Assistant Director of Hallmarking, Standards & Accreditation in the UK Department for Business and Trade.
* Collaborate with the Government and Industry Engagement Director on funded programmes.
* Manage relationships with BSI project owners to ensure project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
* Deputise for the Financial Controller when needed.
Requirements:
* Degree-level education or equivalent.
* Accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) preferred or equivalent experience.
* Experience with funding agreements, controls, and governance is advantageous.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and deliver results.
* Ability to quickly analyze diverse information.
* Strong project management and administrative skills with attention to detail.
* SAP knowledge is desirable.
